Just like in 2020 and 2021, I created something and shared it online every week of 2022. The year’s theme was three dimensional objects. I explored a lot of mediums that I otherwise wouldn’t have and I learned a lot.

I made a simple 4' x 8' shed to add storage capacity to our home. It's amazing how much you can fit in such a small space!

One of my 2020 goals was to create more artwork. The intent was to make and share something once per week for the whole year. I posted artwork every Sunday on Twitter.

I made a Side Table with three levels out of a slab of Butternut hardwood. The levels are held in compression with threaded rods that run through square aluminum tubing.

My Othermill runs its spindle at 26,000 rpm, which makes quite a noise. I cut a sound-dampening enclosure for it out of a single 4' x 8' sheet of plywood.

The only way to unlock this mechanism is to spin it rapidly, forcing all the locking pins outwards.

I made handlebar plugs for my bicycle with an Othermill. This sort of part would typically be made on a very different machine, making this a challenge with a simple 3-axis CNC mill. To machine all features, a custom fixture and three operations are required. Below are a few photos and videos from the process.

During my last semester of college I embarked on what was a very ambitious project for me at the time: to build an electric scooter. Without this project, I wouldn't be nearly as knowledgeable in manual machining as I am today. On the mill, I learned how to properly use an edge-finder, fixture large pieces of stock, and how to dial in feeds and speeds. On the lathe, I learned how to turn multiples of the same part, how to turn between centers and how to properly use the tailstock.

My Capstone project at Georgia Tech was a collaboration between my team and a local company, Agrinamics. They're focused on creating dense indoor growing environments for various microgreens and produce, so we designed and built two machines to help them work quickly and efficiently.
