Prototyping flying robots

I run the prototyping team at Skydio, where we build flying robots that give people superpowers. I've learned a lot in the 5+ years I've spent there and really enjoy it. My team runs our many lab spaces, educates engineers on how to use our tools, and does all the design and fabrication for everything other than the products. In practice, this means that we build small quantities of a huge variety of things, from a single machined part to a complex, massive machine for testing our products in some way. For a taste of what our space is like, read this post we partnered with Formlabs on back in 2023.

Building and writing

With the advent of incredible AI tools and the unavoidable sleep deprivation that comes along with enjoying them while also being the parent of two young boys, I'm building a bunch of new projects, both hardware and software. This website is brand new, after years of neglect, and I'm excited to update it more often.

Previously

I've worked with a variety of teams and on products of various flavors: everything from autonomous sailboats and consumer devices to CNC machines and technology demonstration payloads for the ISS. There's merit to working on one thing for a very long time, but bouncing around in my twenties offered me plenty of opportunity to learn about what I love and, maybe more importantly, what I didn't love.
