Time Lapse
Shortly after getting my new digital camera, an Olympus EPL-1, I started thinking about experimenting with time-lapse.
Unfortunately, the EPL-1 doesn’t have any sort of remote shutter capabilities or internal time-lapse features. Therefore, I had to come up with my own method for taking pictures at a set interval.
My first, and very crude, time-lapse setup utilized a small servo motor, which was fastened to my camera with a cable tie, to depress the shutter button. I programmed the servo with an Arduino to take a shot every 15 seconds.
Although this setup has proven more reliable than I originally thought it would be, I do plan on creating a servo mount and arm for a more user-friendly setup in the future.
